Park Rules

Chino Valley Equestrian Park

Everyone riding, driving, or handling a horse at CVEP must sign the liability waiver and agree to abide by these rules. Guests sign the waiver before participating; members sign once as part of enrollment.

General park rules

  1. Trailer parking and loading/unloading in designated areas only.
  2. Helmets required for all riders and drivers under the age of 18.
  3. Guests must sign a liability release waiver before riding.
  4. Use the locked mailbox at the announcer's booth for forms & money.
  5. Sign in and out on the sheets provided at each arena.
  6. Do not tie horses to arenas — use the hitching posts.
  7. No loose horses in arenas — use the round pen.
  8. Lock all arena gates if you are the last to leave.
  9. If lights are on and you are last to leave, please turn them off.
  10. Clean up after your horse — use marked manure dumps or your trailer.

Open riding protocols

  • Trailers park east of the warm-up arena or north of the main arena. No parking in the road or next to the arenas (emergency access).
  • No vehicles between arenas except for loading/unloading — must be moved immediately.
  • Horses are not allowed between the two arenas in the Pedestrian Parkway (safety).
  • Do not use tables as mounting blocks; horses not allowed near them.
  • No tying horses to any fences.
  • Clean up manure.
  • No hosing horses at the water spigots — clay dirt creates mud. Use buckets and sponges.
  • No horses inside the barriers around water spigots.
  • Do not let horses eat the trees being grown for shade.
  • No horses at liberty before, during, or after open riding.
  • Lunging only in the warm-up arena; owner must be alert to how their horse affects others.
  • Trainers are welcome in the warm-up arena but cannot monopolize it or prevent other riders from using it.
  • In-hand work is allowed in either arena during open riding.

Code of Conduct

The intention of this contract is to establish clear and acceptable behavioral expectations between CVEA, its facility CVEP, and its membership and guests.

  1. Members and guests shall be courteous to other users at the park at all times.
  2. Members and guests shall maintain control of their equines so as not to endanger other persons or animals.
  3. No alcoholic beverages are permitted on the grounds of CVEP except in designated areas when sold by CVEA or an approved vendor at an event.
  4. No firearms shall be carried in any area designated for alcoholic beverages.
  5. No verbal or physical abuse of any person or animal is permitted at any time.
  6. No possession, sale, or use of illegal drugs is permitted.
  7. All dogs must be kept on leash and picked up after.
  8. Dispose of litter and manure appropriately.

Enforcement

Any complaint of a violation of the Code of Conduct must be referred to a member of the CVEA Board for investigation and determination. Actions the Board may take include: no action, verbal or written warning, suspension of membership, or expulsion from CVEA and events. Questions or concerns? secretary@cvequestrianpark.org
